Aloft Hotel -- O.T. Bassett Tower

The O.T. Bassett Tower was designed in Art Deco by Henry C. Trost, and was completed in 1930. For a very short period, it was El Paso's tallest building, until overtaken by Trost's Hilton later the same year. Still standing, it was recently restored and is now an Aloft Hotel.

The ornate front entrance. Interestingly, the original plans were to have the entrance facing Stanton
Street, however this entrance faces Texas Ave. Note the bust of Henry Trost top center! There is a closeup of
